Bo & Lexi
About Lexy.
Let me tell you about my dog.
My dog is there.
She is there every night when I try to sleep.
She is there when the pain keeps me awake.
She is there when things are the hardest.
She is there when I have things that try and break me.
She is there every morning to greet me.
She is there to help me feel safe.
She is there to help take the pain away.
She is there to keep me grounded and focused.
She is there for me.

I really don’t want to share my stories. I have good ones and bad ones like others that have laced up their combat boots. But I will say that having my dog has been one of the best things for me since coming home. Especially when family doesn’t understand and there isn’t a way for them to. When the people that you served with are busy trying to get their own lives together and you don’t want to be a burden to them. My hairball battle buddy is there for me, and one can be there for you too.

To those of you that find yourself struggling a little more than you feel that you should. To those of you that feel like you have tried everything. To those of you that could use a little more help. Just reach out to Joe at Operation Dog Tag, because a service dog will become your new best friend and can save your life.

In the last few weeks I’ve spent time with Joe training my dog to be my service dog. During this short time our bond has gotten stronger tenfold. I have been able to focus more, and the training has been good for both of us. -Bo
