AIRWAY HEIGHTS — In an effort to build interest in drag racing from a new generation, Qlispe Raceway Park (formerly Spokane Raceway Park) is working to form what they call Inland Empire Youth Drag Racing.
According to a Facebook post, Qlispe will host a meeting on Sunday, Jan. 4 at 3 p.m. in the track office.
Those with an interest in learning to race, including high school and middle school students are encouraged to attend. Parents as well as adult racers and mentors are encouraged to attend.
According to a social media post, “In short the program will be for 12-18 year old Inland Empire area youth who want to race or work on racecars. We will build and work on the cars together. Those youngsters who work on the cars will get to race them.”
