STATELINE, Idaho — For the 12th consecutive year Stateline Speedway will honor Spokane’s first family of speed, with the Sneva Memorial, May 29 and 30.
Six classes of open wheel cars, among them including Inland Wing Sprints, Nostalgia Modifieds and WMRA midgets will pack the pits with over 100 cars.
“We were out of pit space last year,” said TJ Sneva, son of the late Jerry Sneva and a driver himself, said on a KHQ-TV interview. “Pretty special, cool that it’s grown,” Sneva added.
Friday racing starts at 5 p.m. and 4 on Saturday.
“This is a way to honor the legend of the Sneva family and the support from them to continue the dream alive with motorsports alive in the community and the region,” Stateline Speedway said in an email statement.
Tony Berry is a longtime driver who will be behind the wheel of cars in two different classes.
“The Sneva event is always the marquee open wheel event in the area and I’m thrilled to be able to participate in it again this year in both a WMRA midget and making a maiden voyage in a Can Am sprint car,” Berry said in Facebook Messenger..
“I was able to win the inaugural event in a winged car and hoping to follow up this year in the Seidelman Racing #2 midget and 55 Can Am car,” he added.
