AIRWAY HEIGHTS — The yearly appearance of the Outlaws’ series takes place Aug. 15-16 at Qlispe Raceway with not only some unique racing but an opportunity for fans to get up close and personal in special way.
Fans will be able to have special exclusive access to the program with the purchase of a variety of tickets.
According to a Google search, “The Outlaws” is a drag racing series formerly known as Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings, which has been rebranded as Speed Promotions Racing. It features no-prep drag racing events across North America, with a points championship and various special events. The series includes big-tire and small-tire classes, with significant prize money and a focus on intense racing.”
Quispe’s Ben Zimmerman wrote in an email that the competitors race only 1/8th mile length as opposed to the traditional quarter mile.
“They run “no time” so we turn off the scoreboards and printers so nobody know the times and speed,” Zimmerman explained. “If I had to guess they run low 4’s in the 1/8th.”
That special opportunity involves Radford Racing School which is partnering with The Outlaws to bring fans who buy a $200 special ticket a one of a kind RIDE-A-LONG. Get in the passenger seat of their Dodge SRT Demon 170 and get ready to race against another Outlaw/Fan pairing! Go 0-60 MPH in 1.66 seconds.
Speed Promotion Racing offers this message, to not “buy your tickets anywhere but TheFOAT.com. Any third-party tickets are fraudulent and will not be honored. Please stay vigilant.”
Parking opens at 10 a.m. Friday (racing at 5 p.m.) and 9 a.m. Saturday (racing 2 p.m).
The “best value” is advertised at the Winners’ Circle duper tickets for the best bang for your buck. It includes access to the pits, free parking, the Best Seats, giveaways and more. These tickets are the first to sell out - don’t miss out and secure them early.
This could be the last time to catch this series, Zimmerman pointed out. “There is a rumor going around that the “Outlaws” are going back to the street next season. Don’t know if it’s true or not. If so they won’t be coming back to Spokane without an invite and be paid very well.”
