SPOKANE – Turn2lapping will present an event at Qlispe Raceway’s road course, Saturday, April 19. The event is open to both cars and motorcycles.

Just what is lapping?

Lapping is when you get the chance to actually take your car onto a race track and drive in a controlled environment. Lapping events are non-timed practice events, where speeds are generally limited to 80% of maximum potential to ensure safety.

Turn2lapping.com outlined some important information on lapping with more FAQ’s (frequently asked questions) available on their website.

What are the safety requirements to drive my car on the track?

You must self-tech your car to be allowed on the track.

Car must not be leaking any kind of fluids.

Battery must be bolted down. No bungee cords!

Tires must be of the same manufacturer and tread pattern with more than 2/32 to start the

day. Race tires must not have any cords showing.

Three point seat belts are fine. Race harnesses are good too if in good condition. The driver must be able to offer the same belts as they are wearing to a passenger.

Lapping takes place both at Qlispe and The Ridge Motorsports Park near Shelton, Wash. and allows participants to experience “the thrill of the race meets the joy of driving.”

From 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, you’ll be in the driver’s seat for seven 20-minute sessions. That’s over two and a half hours of pure driving bliss, leaving you grinning from ear to ear.

Take a pit stop at noon to refuel with an hour-long lunch break – the perfect time to swap stories with fellow speed demons and recharge for the next session.

With each driving session lasting a gripping 20 minutes, you get plenty of time to channel your inner race car driver and conquer the track. The best part? You can choose between two different and equally incredible tracks: experience The Ridge for $425 or Qlispe for just $250. So, gear up, grab your helmet, and join us for a day of Turn2 fun that’ll have you craving more track time!
