Joel Schrader Stateline: 2025 V-6 Claimers Champion

Joel Schrader’s 30th season in racing will be more memorable than just for his longevity. Schrader drove his unique minivan to the V-6 Claimers title at Stateline Speedway.

“I started racing around 1995 in Bump-to-Pass then started to do demolition derbies through the years,” Schrader wrote in an email.

Through the years Schrader has also raced a variety of classes including Hobby Stocks, Figure-8, Legends, Late Models, School Busses — and the V6’s.

Born in Spokane, growing up in Mead and a resident of Colbert for the last 20 years, Schrader looks at 2026 as a time for new racing adventures. “I don’t have many plans to race in 2026 except for some dirt racing in Lind,” he said.

Schrader’s long career includes a number of notable events he said.
“I can’t remember ‘em all or how many I’ve won but some of the highlights would be in 1996 3rd of July derby, my first derby win; me Jay Corbin hit head on at the end.”

In 2018 he won the demo derby with the highest ever payout that Stateline has ever done against some good drives and cars. As the 2012 Hobby Stock season championship Schrader became the track record holder.
When not behind the wheel Schrader is the supervisor and a technician of a power tool repair department.
“I also do some buying selling cars and buy abandoned storage units and some hauling cars off abandoned properties,” Schrader said. And in-between all that I like to fix up cars instead of crashing them and lately fixing up older tow truck also spending time in the mountains.”

Schrader said “I’ve never had many sponsors just my wallet and help from my family and friends.”
