REPUBLIC — The race enthusiasts answered the call and it appears that Eagle Track Raceway in Republic is set to run in 2026?
“We are ok, we’re going to do what we can with what we have,” spokesperson Wendy Braun reports via email. Racing opens Saturday, May 16.
That support came from many places to keep the 3/8ths mile dirt track operating after there were recent fears it might not.
“We have a couple sponsors- OK Chevrolet in Tonasket and Not Dougs in Aeneas Valley,” Braun said. The track, however, still needs lap counters and an announcer for half the season.
Right now, Eagle Track is at a turning point, Braun explained.
“Without more volunteers, sponsors and people willing to step up, we risk losing race days altogether,” she wrote. “And once it’s gone, it’s gone.”
No experiences is necessary. General help behind the scenes is lacking. “No experience? That’s okay, we’ll show you,” Braun said.
“If you’ve ever sat in the stands, cheered on a driver, or brought your family out for a day at the races, now’s the time to give back,” Braun said.
Braun is passionate in her interest that Eagle Track, which has operated for decades, remains viable.
“This is your track, let’s protect it,” she said. “Even for a few hours, even one sponsor, it all matters more than you think.”
Step up today so there is a place to race tomorrow.
“This isn’t just a racetrack,” Braun said. “It’s where memories are made, families gather and our community comes together.”
